FAQ

Will I meet you before you start?

Of course! Before taking on any new dog I will come to your home and have a chat with you about my services and what you require. This is a chance for you and your dog to get to know me and for me to find out all about your dog and their little quirks that make them so special! I will complete a new client form with you and also give you a chance to see my insurance details and qualifications. This visit is of course free of charge.  clarkston dog walker, newton mearns dog walker, netherlee dog walker

How many dogs are walked at any one time?

We generally have anything up to 8 dogs.  I also only place dogs that are compatible with each other in the same group, ensuring that there are no personality clashes. Just like people, not all dogs get along. clarkston dog walker, newton mearns dog walker, netherlee dog walker

How do you arrange picking up and dropping off the dogs?

Your dog will be picked up and dropped in my fully kitted out and ventilated van and will get to run about with their other doggo pals for at least an hour! I only walk in drive in secure fields to ensure safety.  Your dog will be returned home tired and happy, towelled off if need be, their water bowl refilled and left with a treat (if allowed).  We have a portable shower and dog shampoo in the van so, whilst we cannot guarantee a clean dog returned every time, I will always try my best. (unfortunately for some real mud lovers only, a bath from their owner will really do the trick!). clarkston dog walker, newton mearns dog walker, netherlee dog walker

Do I need to be home when you collect or drop off my dog?

No. Some clients give me a spare set of keys which I hold on to.  Your keys are locked away with no personal information on them linking them to your house.  Alternatively, if you would prefer, you can leave a key with a neighbour or in safe place. It is your home and you have to feel comfortable with the access arrangement that suits you.  Should your keys be lost or stolen I will inform you immediately and replacement of keys and a change of locks is covered by my insurance.

Where do you walk?

We use secure fields out the back of Newton Mearns.  These are drive in, so we can open the doors and 'release the hounds'  All deer fencing has been run under the ground so even our best diggers arent able to escape :)

How can I keep track of how the walks are going?

Please also check in to my Facebook and Instagram pages where you can see pictures of our doggo adventures from the day!  For any more specific questions about how your dog got on, I am always just at the other end of the phone, so please do get in touch!

Do you walk dogs off the lead?

Generally yes, but only with your written consent. I never take dogs off the lead for the first couple of walks so I can test that they will come back to me, and only when I am comfortable that he or she will, will I then take them off. If their recall is a bit ropey, I have 25 metre long leads so your dog can still get a good run about but still be safe also.

Do you do walking out of normal hours?

Yes. Please contact me to discuss your requirements. I understand everyone's commitments are different and I am available to fit in with your schedules.
